Privacy

The Wall holds almost nothing. Here is the entire list.

What we store
  • The text of your comment — permanent and public.
  • A timestamp of when your comment was planted.
  • A faceless hash of your IP address (SHA-256 + a secret pepper). Your raw IP address is never stored — not in the database, not in logs. The hash cannot be turned back into you.
  • Your vote — a bare up or down attached to the hash.
What it is used for
  • Enforcing one comment and one ballot per Visitor. Nothing else.
What we never have
  • No accounts. No names. No emails. No profiles.
  • No cookies. No ads. No analytics. No tracking pixels.
  • No knowledge of who you are — not before you post, not after.
Third parties
Removal
  • Comments are never edited and never deleted — that is the experiment. Downvoted past −1, a comment becomes terminally dead and is never shown again, but it remains stored.
  • Because we store no identifying information, we cannot look you up and cannot reveal you. Content-removal requests (not identity lookups — we can't) go through brightwater.academy.
